First, if you have domains sitting somewhere out there in cyberspace, perhaps parked with the domain registrar, you need to rethink your strategy as this will not allow you to make money with your domains.
Most domain registration services offer to park your domain for free. Sounds great, after all how often do you get something for free?
In reality, the domain registrar is making money off your domain name every time someone visits your parked page and clicks on a link. Are you enjoying a share of that revenue?
If you own domain names that are currently parked with the domain registrar, the first thing you want to do is park them for free elsewhere, either one which shares the click through revenue with YOU or build your own. One I had success with is Name Drive. I currently use my own system that I have programmed, however still working on some details… more on this coming to a website near you 
Once your domains are parked, you need to log into your account periodically to check the stats. What you are looking for are domains which are showing traffic and hopefully clickthroughs, hence generating revenue. These are the domain names you want to work with.
One good example is Wholesale Eyeglasses. I left this domain parked for a while and generated traffic making a few dollars a month from clickthroughs.
I then moved to the first parking site I programmed which enabled me to add products and widgets to the website utilizing affiliate programs while maintaining an AdSense presence too. I began making a little more money every month.
The next step is to develop into a fully automated website. Taking our example, Wholesale Eyeglasses, I created a fully fledged website within only four hours. This included a data base from a feed permitting me to list 30,000 eyeglass and sunglass frames directly on my website. Now if you do not know programming, try an affiliate network like LinkConnector!as they offer easy to create widgets for your website. No programming needed. I did remove AdSense from this website, but you may wish to include on your own websites for additional revenue. I simply prefer at this point not to steer a visitor away but rather steer them towards the shopping cart to checkout!
You want to target keywords effectively. For myself I mainly register and use highly searched keyword domains. So for example, I targeted the keyword phrase Wholesale Eyeglasses. Here is a screen shot of the results in Google under the search term Wholesale Eyeglasses; #1 out of over 1 million listings.
Now I am not telling you this to brag, however that #1 slot has made me $ 467.30 in commissions in the first 20 days of this month thus far! That is $23.37 a day.
Next you will want an autoresponder for a newsletter announcing specials… to your subscribers such as Aweber. This enables you to have automatic updates sent to your subscribers. Create at least 7 automated responses that can be sent at different intervals that you setup. It is a known fact that most people need to see your ad at least seven times before buying, so keeping this in mind, perhaps create a dozen follow-ups to better your odds!
Just imagine if you could take your domains making $20.00 a day and duplicate on just ten domain names placing $200.00 in your pocket every day! And that is just for starters…
